Academic and Internship Posters: FAQ and Getting Help

Graphic design resources to create high-quality posters.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

Q: My image looks blurry—what’s wrong?
A: Make sure your image is 300 DPI. Don’t resize smaller images up.

Q: How do I export my file correctly?
A: Save as a high-resolution PDF with embedded fonts. Use “PDF for Print” or “High Quality Print.”

Q: My file is too large to email—what should I do?
A: Use Google Drive, OneDrive, or other online file sharing services to send it. If sending to print at HPU's Print Shop, there will be an option for submitting large files.

Q: Why do my colors look different when printed?
A: Monitors use RGB; printers use CMYK. Slight color shifts are normal.

Q: Should I include QR codes?
A: Yes! Link to your portfolio, video, dataset, or resume.

Q: Can I get feedback before printing?
A: Yes! Visit the Media Lab or ask your professor. Print a small draft for review. Also consult the Guide to Printing at HPU
