The Federal Supplement is now in its 3rd Series. Not all Federal District Court cases are published, but those that are, are included in the Federal Supplement.

West Reporter System

1.Federal Supplement

The Federal Supplement publishes opinions and decisions of US District Courts. It is the "official" reporter and main source of decisions of district court. The reporter is abbreviated as F. Supp., F. Supp. 2d, and F. Supp. 3d.  

2. Federal Reporter

The Federal Reporter contains the Federal Appellate Court Decisions. HPU Law Library has the following:

  • Federal Supplement
  • Federal Supplement 2d (update stopped at v. 302)
  • Federal Reporter (F.)
  • Federal Reporter 2d (F.2d)
  • Federal Reporter 3d (F.3d) (update stopped at v.333)
  • Southeastern Reporter
  • Southeastern Reporter 2d (update stopped at v. 569)

U.S. Court of Appeals opinions can also be found on GovInfo.

3. Federal Appendix (Fed. Appx.)

The Federal Appendix (Fed. Appx.), now defunct, published unpublished opinions of the the United States Courts of Appeal between 2001 and 2021. Appx is defunct, the content is available through Westlaw Precision and Lexis+.
