eBooks at Kahn Law Library

How to locate, access, and navigate ebooks through the Kahn Law and HPU Libraries collections.

Library Catalog

Searching the catalog for eBooks

*Important note for law students: certain sources, including anything available through Westlaw and Lexis, are only available to law students with your site-specific accounts, and therefore will not show up in a general catalog search because they are not available to the wider HPU community. Law library eBook platforms can be accessed through this guide in the left menu.*

Follow these steps to find eBooks available through HPU Libraries.
  1. Start at either the Kahn Law Library homepage, the HPU Libraries homepage, or the library catalog search. Enter a search term in the search bar -- a book title, an author, a topic, or a series name.
  2. In the left menu under "Format," choose "eBook" below "Book."
  3. The results are now filtered for eBooks only. To access an eBook, click the purple "View eBook" button for the resource you'd like to see.
  4. From there, access will depend on the platform. Typically, you will be able to click through to view the eBook as long as you are signed in to your HPU account, or you will be prompted to log in.

Direct Access

If you know the resource you need is available through a specific platform or publisher, you can navigate directly there. Many of the most useful eBook platforms are available through this guide, while others can be found through the Law Library Databases A-Z List or the HPU Libraries Databases A-Z List.
