Streaming Content: Home

A guide to educational streaming resources available through HPU Libraries.

Welcome!

Streaming Definition

Streaming media is multimedia content that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. Streaming multimedia is a cutting-edge tool to implement in presentations, research and teaching.

While there are a plurality of streaming content providers who each host their own collections of media content, finding what you're looking to view or share with a class is a simple endeavor.

Streaming Content at High Point University

High Point University Libraries have subscriptions to streaming resources such as Films for Humanities & Sciences, Digital Theatre Plus, Video Collection at NCLive, and Swank Digital Campus.

Educators and students can use streaming videos from free web sources such as Discovery, TED talks, Frontline, PBS, BBC, and many more.

Educators can also record themselves or their computer screens and stream these lessons or presentations on blackboard or other online resources.

This guide will lead you to appropriate resources and also help you learn how to effectively use streaming resources in your classrooms.
